Goal: Type everything so far with at least 95% accuracy. Short essays with longer sentences. Build endurance: keep going at one pace from the first word to the last.
Handwriting is slow, personal and hard to edit; typing is fast, neat and endlessly changeable. Each shapes how we think. When we write by hand, we choose words carefully because changing them is costly. When we type, we can think on the page, trying ideas and deleting them freely. The best writers learn to use both.
