West Africa is a land of great empires and busy cities. Mali gave the world Timbuktu and the mud mosque of Djenne. Ghana weaves kente cloth, Senegal welcomes every guest with teranga, and Cote d'Ivoire grows more cocoa than anywhere else. Nigeria, home to more people than any other African country, fills the world's screens through Nollywood.
