A car starts from rest and accelerates at 2 m/s^2 for 10 s. Using v = u + at, its final speed is 0 + (2 x 10) = 20 m/s. The distance travelled is s = ut + 0.5at^2 = 0 + 0.5 x 2 x 100 = 100 m. Always write the formula first, then substitute the numbers, then state the answer with its units.
