Goal: Type a full passage of real text at a steady pace. Model writing about writing. Mind the quotation marks, the commas and the long sentences.
To analyse a poem, begin with the title and ask what it promises. Read the poem twice, once for sense and once for sound. Note the imagery, the rhythm and the tone. Then explain how each technique helps to build the theme, and support every point with a short quotation.
