A pupil claims that the new homework club caused examination scores to rise. Higher scores after the club opened support the claim, but timing alone does not prove cause. Pupils may also have received new textbooks or changed their study habits. Compare attendance, earlier results and other changes before drawing a conclusion. The club may have helped, while the available evidence may still be insufficient to measure its exact effect.
